ATMP XB, a collaborative Interreg initiative

ATMP XB, a collaborative Interreg initiative

Anabiotec is a partner in the EU co-funded ATMP XB project, aiming to strengthen the Flemish-Dutch border region as a leading hub for ATMPs. Through collaboration between educational institutions, hospitals, and companies, ATMP XB focuses on improving production, quality control, technology development, and specialized training to help bring these innovative therapies to patients faster and more safely.

Anabiotec is contributing to ATMP XB, a collaborative Interreg initiative aimed at strengthening the QA/QC ecosystem for Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) in the Flemish-Dutch border region. As an analytical service provider with over 25 years of experience in method development and validation, Anabiotec brings deep expertise in quality control for biologics, cell therapies, and gene therapy products, making them a natural fit for this initiative.

Cell and gene therapies are transforming modern medicine, but their personalized nature introduces complex challenges in quality control, sterility testing, and manufacturing reliability. These challenges sit at the core of Anabiotec 's day-to-day work, and their hands-on analytical experience positions them to make a meaningful contribution to the project.

ATMP XB brings together leading academic, clinical, and industry partners to address these challenges through a networked competence center focused on QA/QC innovation. Anabiotec contributes by increasing analytical testing capacity, supporting ATMP developers with targeted QC expertise, and facilitating collaboration between stakeholders across the region.

The insights generated within the project will also feed into training initiatives aimed at strengthening the ATMP workforce and expertise within the region. ATMP XB is cofunded by the European Union under Interreg Vlaanderen-Nederland. The project is led by Biovia and involves POM Antwerpen, at.las ATMP, Smart BioMaterials Center (SBMC), anicells, IDEVAX, QbD Group, Karel de Grote-Hogeschool, UZ Gent, Anabiotec, RegMed XB, Sure Laboratories – Trust us to be Sure.
